Just seeing who’s paying attention! I had an E39 M5 with over 900hp earlier in the day and got an e-mail from Paul asking if I had a story to tell. You missed the MINI yesterday and the E46 M3… and the 540i sport… and the…

Interesting… There were no classification system changes for 2012. I compared event data from April 2011 event and April 2012 event and your points were 58 for both.

There were some minor changes to the formula for calculating base points this year. Review the other thread to see what the changes are, but I suspect you may have gained one from the LSD updates that were made. I added this after the original posting, so revisit it if you’ve already been thru the information.

The plan is… the usual plan. A great course, run groups and worker assignments, tons of newbies and lots of fun… without the competition part. We will also have a demo of some new software we’re looking at so people can see live results on their mobile devices.

Run groups will be randomly assigned by me. Bribes are accepted. 🙂

If you can help out, please let me know. We’re going to need at least 11 buddies and 16 coaches.

The agenda will be new instructor training first, lunch, then Advanced CCC discussion. Even if you can’t make the start, you may enjoy the second half discussion too. There aren’t too many new instructors coming so we’re going to focus on the new program mostly this time.

Canyon has the names of folks who replied to me and should be adding you to the roster or sending you an invitation from MSR.

There were two items found at the site that I forgot to mention in the thank you e-mail I sent. One is a black plastic storage case for an electric air pump.

The other is a plastic part from the front lower area of a BMW…

#5 in the diagram was found on the figure-8 exercise. I have it stored in the trailer, so if it’s yours and you want it back, get in touch.

Based on the part number it belongs to one of the following vehicles:

Yes, it was fun Mark. Thanks for giving me a go in it. In addition to room in the garage, I’d also need foot reduction surgery on my right foot. I still don’t believe there was a brake pedal down there.

I hope some others took some pics… we were all so busy having fun we forgot about the Bombe article.

I’ll get a read on the timetable for the meeting. Last year we did the instructor training part after lunch – might just work out perfectly for you. I’ll encourage them to do it that way this time too.

We are using the same course layout from last July, here’s a repost of the site plan. If you want course maps, please print your own and bring with you.

Still waiting to hear from the facilities folks at Marina. There’s still some drama with the use permit approval and no final decisions yet. I don’t think I’ll open registration until I have a signed contract.

Looks about right to me John. I’m a 65 point car… no engine mods, but I have points for rear diff and sways.

I’m anxious to see how the new ZII’s perform. My Star Specs are pretty heat cycled out at this point. A little bird told me the ZII’s will start shipping in March.

[quote=”poweryosh” post=1084]I would like to thank Matt V. and Jeff R. for making us feel so welcome on Saturday! It was great to have your coaching and input on how to drive the course. And showing us the ropes and introducing us around to the other members. It really help out a bunch. We had such a great time and are looking forward to the next time!!! Everyone was so friendly we felt like we had been members for a long time even though it was our first time there.
    Thanks again

    Hi Troy –
Your description is exactly what we shoot for at every event! I had a blast coaching you and you did great. That was a challenging course for first-timers, but had so many fun and fast elements to it.

I’m sure we’ll see you out with us in the future and I am shooting for March to have a social event somewhere central to all our 831 members. If you have any ideas where 20-30 folks can easily park and have access to coffee or food, let me know.
