Jeff RobertsParticipant
Thanks Rodger! Other than Brendan’s double inclusion, it looks good.
Jeff RobertsParticipantMany factors are taken into consideration when determining base points. We have determined the AWD systems on the newer cars to be quite beneficial to handling, a la LSD in RWD cars, so the base points start out higher on the newer XI models.
Suspension and tires are the two most beneficial upgrades to handling, so we weight them appropriately. So yeah, points do add up.
Jeff RobertsParticipant
I think it was an upgraded version of Axware. It had an iphone for the guy queuing cars(instead of the scanner we used to use) and live results via wifi.
Mark
I bet it was AXTi.me’s software. We had them come demo the AXWare integration for live results at our Candlestick event back in April. They have been working on a new system for a while.
Did the wifi results look something like this?
If you can ask the chairs/powers that be, that would be great. Chris and I have been talking on and off about seeing a live demo. They use it at LPR events.
Jeff RobertsParticipant
Thanks! 🙂
Just got my video uploaded, too. I know I’m slow.
You are very limited with those tires man! You probably would have been faster if we ran the course on the grass. 🙂
I’m glad you came out to have some fun with us while you’re in the area and thanks for the photos. I checked out your Flickr – you’ve got a nice portfolio going there. Really nice autox stuff!
Jeff RobertsParticipantThanks Barry… I skimmed thru 10 pages of the forum post on the event. 13 stations is a lot to cover!
They mentioned a “new computer system” any info on that? Curious to know what they’re using now.
Jeff RobertsParticipant

The main runway is 7200 feet by 200 ft. and there is a second shorter runway.
Won’t that really limit your course design options?
I watched some videos… you had a 90s course on Sunday. How many course worker stations did you have to cover all that space? Did someone drive them out to their posts? 🙂
Jeff RobertsParticipant
Johnson was supposed to run in non-competitive. Was he not reg’d that way?
You mentioned he might go non-compete, but the car was registered Gonzo for him, so that’s why. Brian can change him to “N” with his next round of updates to the results. He’ll want to update his classification in the system to N for his next event.
Thanks to Brian for the quick turnaround on results – we all appreciate it!
Great day everyone!
Jeff RobertsParticipantFrom the classification team …
Rear camber points are only for older cars that came from the factory with little to no camber. Newer (E36 and newer) come from the factory with 1.5* or more of camber. That is about optimal so no need to dial in more camber than that. Camber correction arms are actually to remove the camber gained from lowering the car.
No points for bushings, control arms, etc.
So the system and your interpretation is correct for your E36.
Jeff RobertsParticipantReading comprehension fail on my part. I’m seeking guidance from the classification system team on this one as it’s not obvious to me form the data I have access to.
Jeff RobertsParticipantLooking at the base points data I have, there is only 1 point difference between M coupé and M roadster

Jeff RobertsParticipantDitto… thanks for the quick turnaround!
A few minor corrections I noticed…
#950 should be Susan, not Susam (my typo)
#951 Tyler T was driving a 2004 M3 Convertible 19in wheels, David Bristow’s car
#212 and 158 were driving a 2007 Porsche Boxster S
#505 was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Grand SportJeff RobertsParticipantGreat videos! Great photos! Great coaching! Great day! Thanks to all who shared!
Jeff RobertsParticipantThe MSR has very little info… what time does it start? How does it work? Their website info is from 2006.
Jeff RobertsParticipant

What are the run groups for the upcoming event. I am in Gonzo, but i am trying to get out as soon as possible.

Did Steve K get his 2002 running?
Mark
According to the classification system, he did. We haven’t seen him out for a long time!
Jeff RobertsParticipant
Jeff,
Is there something different about loading the image this time?
Mark
I guess so… it’s not taking. I’ll upload to Flickr and link to it.
