Sure Scott, I still have Large in both colors available, see ya at September autocross!
Jack YuModeratorI’m just teasin’, I know you would cuz you have in the past! I guess I felt I needed to see if I could solve the course on my own, so I didn’t ask this time. Normally I would ask anyone and everyone for tips!
Jack YuModeratorCongrats on the Gonzo win Charlie! It was very motivating and challenging to be battling so close with you, Dunwoodie, and Cowan (my nemesis) 👿 each run. Being .2 away from a win is like the carrot on a stick, so close, yet so far. It will be interesting to see if I can improve with the Direzza II’s which I may have next month. I hope it doesn’t take a lot of time to get used to the new rubber.
Mr. Sparks designs another course that takes time to figure out, like a monthly puzzle, and when you do figure it out…you win!
Jack YuModeratorDave was that your top time? Also, did you even brake after the slalom into that right turn? I would have asked you for tips, but I know you wouldn’t have given them to me until after the event 😛
Jack YuModeratorTristan, if no one wants them, I’ll take the z-rated PFC’s…since those are the ones I have on my car now.
Jack YuModeratorThanks a lot Brian for the quick turnaround, especially for fixing a lot of the times in the computer. There’s something going on with Charles Kaehler’s time, it’s showing a time not listed in his 7 runs. Weird!
Jack YuModeratorMr Dunwoodie, why do you torment me so? I thought I had you with your 36.8 and then you had to do that last run! Too bad fun runs don’t count, I finally got a 36.9 but it was a little too late!
Jack YuModerator
Are there people that runs more than just GGC events that prefer GGC courses over other clubs’ (except UFO)?
UUGGGHHHHH
Jack YuModeratorWrong…I gave you my opinion which I clearly stated…but I’d like your best designs so we can potentially put it up for a vote (which I need to convince Dave and Jeff, and only if it passes safety rules first without changing the course much).
Edit: I’m trying hard to make you guys happy, but you guys are making it tough. No other folks who have attended so few of our events have made recommendations and feedback so difficult. The constant comparisons to other clubs is basically killing me right now. I am dying a slow death.
Jack YuModeratorPlus, I don’t know if you know how this works, but we can’t use the same exact course that has already been used by other attendees or clubs. It would create an unfair advantage. You’d have to create them from scratch or change enough elements to make it different. That’s why we use one designer who has files on all previous designs and he doesn’t even compete.
Jack YuModeratorThese same elements have been used before at Marina in our own courses, it’s not difficult to imagine how they would run. If I drew a big square and said that was the most fun, and you said it wasn’t, I could say “yeah but you haven’t driven it yet so how do you know?”
So you didn’t answer my question, are these your favorites you want to submit?
Edit: Also talk about broadening horizons, you don’t like our courses, you’ve said so yourself!
Jack YuModeratorAny other maps you can share? In my opinion, last months GGC course map was more interesting than either of these two. If you want to go with these two as your top designs to try out, then move the grid and trailer and send it in for a final review.
Jack YuModeratorI completely agree with you Charlie. I for one am not resistant to changing how the course is coned, especially if it results in fewer lost people and easier pack up time!
Jack YuModeratorHmmm, not bad. I like the grid better than the other one. Though, these would have to be adjusted to start, end and pre-grid on the length-wise (right side) area. Our club can no longer start, end or grid near the parking entering/exiting paddock, too much traffic and liability concerns. Is the “M/H” the trailer? If so, we’d have to move that.
Jack YuModeratorHow can it be off topic if I’m replying directly to your statement?
