Cool. Thanks guys for the quick feedback!

I’m going to have to look at the differences between the AKG and Powerflex. I forgot I had read some good reviews (and a few bad) on the AKGs as well. In the end, I wnat the one that is more reliable/lasts longer and won’t need to be continuously greased to avoid the squeaks.

So, no PU for the RTABs then?

And for the Diff, I’m going to see if I can get oe/oem solid rubber (Meyle HD?).

PS: Might be buying a swaybar kit that comes with rear subframe, so I might not need the removal tool We shall see!!

This looks REALLY tempting… but I won’t have the cash flow. Next year!

Whenever you think I’m ready, I’d love to do coaching and/or buddying.

    I got mine here:
    https://www.fireballgraphix.com

REALLY good customer service. The representative and I exchanged multiple emails discussing color combinations and patterns. My only mistake was I bought one too big so I have to flap it over the side bumper strip. The magnet held on even with that bit of flap/gap from the bumper strip (although my car is slower than most).

When pictures get posted, it’s car #413 (white e30 318is).

Thanks for the photos as always! I was hoping someone caught a picture of me lifting a wheel so I could post it on all the other forums. The title would be something like : what NOT to do to your e30’s suspension. Man was it squirrely! Super fun course. A little scary. GREAT learning experience!

Is that rubbing it in for RG3? Sorry. I just hope the newer folks in RG3 still got just enough of a taste to get the hunger to come back next season.

I was having so much fun trying to chase you down all season, too! I was able to close some gap, but still not close! Sucks that you cannot make it out – the thrill of competition just ain’t the same without The Don (sorry, I just can’t help it.. a “The” just begs to precede your name in my twisted little mind). If not in November, we will at least have next season.

    Cheers!

    Thanks for posting this up!

I finally took a closer look at the times across all the different days. Are the times between the top B and C class typically that close?? Is it just me that finds it strange that I’d be in 2nd in C class, but 1st in B Class? Should I seriously consider getting some summer tires to run in B class!? Naaaaah….

Really? Hate to be a selfish bastard (but I am)…. but that’s good news for ME! I am hoping Laszlo Jr. is one of the non-attendants!? Ran into complications doing the suspension on my car, so it’s not gong to be ready in time. I was actually cnsidering posting on the forum to see if I could share a C-class ride w/ someone cuz I’m hungry for at least 3rd place this year… assuming this will go towards my point totals still, of course.

True that! Too bad I cannot afford 2 sets and do back-to-back comparisons. I might end up literally flipping a coin to decide.

Also, I unfortunately won’t be able to join in on the fun this weekend… complications arose when swapping suspension this weekend. Control arm thread and nut were all jacked up on passenger side and the metal top spring retainer (front) broke on both sides…. SUCKS!!! I was in 3rd place and ready to make a move in my class, too!!!

    See y’all next month (hopefully)

Oh wow. That would be awesome! Thank you, Hal.

Well, it seems that the only all-season performance tire I can find in 225/45/16 is a Maxxis MA-V1 (apparently popular in Australia). Idea busted!

So now, I guess I have to decide between

Conti DWS OR General G-Max AS-03 (also in Ecsta ASX and BFG G-Force Super Sport A/S) 205/45/16 (892 revs/mi)

    and

    Potenza RE970AS Pole Position 225/50/16 (837 revs/mi compared to stock ~870 revs/mi)

It’s still the same question –
Grip (dry grip rating 9.4 vs 8.9 & bigger contact patch)
    vs.
Acceleration (weight & diameter) & response.

Oh man, how does one decide?!?! I know what I’m leaning towards. Either way I’ll be better off than my current package, but I am curious what the greater minds would choose. Votes??

Ooooh. Lot’s of good info, here! I like the idea of smaller diam/aspect ratio (45) with wider (225) tire… if I can find it. I’d get the grip of the extra contact patch and in theory the loss in power and increased tire flex would be compensated for by the smaller aspect ratio. I’ll have to do a frresh search in this size. (Unfortunately, I don’t have tire rack wholesale access, so I couldn’t follow the provided links.)
