Rats. Was really looking forward to a spring “Test and Tune” event this year. Not looking good, I assume.

Thank you for doing all this post session work to get results out. It is obvious that is is not a trivial task. Very much appreciated by all of us.

Here is my 6th Ferrari run:

I am extremely happy. To be honest I have had a terrible time understanding the handling dynamics of the car since I bought it. It has a tendency for severe understeer, which I mostly blamed on myself not knowing how to drive a mid-engine car.

This time I put 5 psi more pressure in the rear than the front (R: 42 psi, F: 37 psi) (RE-11As), which completely eliminated the understeer, in fact, probably gave it slightly too much oversteer. It was awesome; much more “BMW-like” but with this wonderful sense of rotation around a center of gravity further back of the car. It was pretty cool.

Now that I’ve got that going, I’ll probably back off the pressure differential over time as I get better at driving the car. (I have given up at being good at autocross.)

Thank you for such a great session. It was super fun.

(Wait a minute … The results claim I am slug slow. Something must be wrong.)

Bwahahah! Bringing the Ferrari to AX#7 with new tires! As we all know, autocross is just like golf; it is 90% equipment and just 10% skill. Instead of finishing at the bottom of the standings like I always do, this time, I will clean everyones clocks! Bwahahah! I can hardly wait.
Here is the original split video of Praneil and me with grip and speed data…That’s a lot of information to process for me. I think the video alone is adequate.
To me, the comparative video is harder to digest but the “speedometers” are very interesting. Worth further study. Thank you for posting.

Here are videos of Jen and I trying to figure out how to drive a Ferrari:

“New Car” is my 2013 excuse for being slow.

Looks like fun. Nice to be back.

This will be the only autocross Jen runs this year: she headed off to summer school … with the
    A-Class 1991 318i.

Bringing my new old car: a 1983 Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole. Hope to kills some cones. Running in x-class will be a relief considering how %$#@& slow I am.

You know, when I finally broke down and bought the plus-sized rims and put monster-size rubber on the car (205/50R15), the Kumho XSs were only $88 / each. The new Bridgestone RE-11s are a massive $122 EACH!!! Each!!!

What do I get???!!! Still more “slow”.

Thanks always to the organizers. Jen and I had great fun.

It was nice to (finally) get back and see the gang again.

Some things never change … we are as slow as we’ve always been.
