Here is my fastest time in Run Group 1.
Here are some Slow Motion Shots around the last turn.
February 23, 2014 at 9:05 pm #5752Rob PowersParticipantNice videos.. You really get a sense of how just many pebbles were on course in the top one.
February 23, 2014 at 9:37 pm #5753John KimParticipantThanks for a great day everyone. Here’s my 2nd fastest run (run 6 of 6) at 48.557. My fastest run was 48.265 but not caught on camera. I saw the faster drivers pulling 46’s so as usual, I’m a few seconds off the pace.

It’s his first day autocrossing, and he looks at least 5x better than my first day at AutoX! He also did the Car Control Clinic on Saturday. In this run he beats 50 seconds but hits one cone.
February 24, 2014 at 1:13 pm #5762Paul BertonParticipantHere is, I think, my fastest, 45.507. Had a couple of 45.5x’s
Two things, down cone in slalom and what I think is a hesitation across the finish, don’t think I lifted.
Would like to see a video of someone who did a batter job on the gate to the slalom, Robb?

I was only able to really nail that uphill turn before the slalom once. I started just a little wider on the entry and turned in earlier so I hugged the inside as it went uphill. The off camber angle pushed me just wide enough to the right to make the entry into the slalom the perfect approach. It was basically the only place on that turn without a huge pile of pebbles on it too, which helped keep the car settled when accelerating to the slalom.
Credit goes to Michael Kolesar for sharing that one–I think that one change dropped a second off my time.
February 24, 2014 at 7:54 pm #5769Dave DunwoodieParticipantHere’s mine, 45.2 seconds on Z1s.

February 24, 2014 at 9:27 pm #5780Max LukichevParticipantHere is my last run in my stock 2011 MX-5. Entered hairpin very well, kept enough speed for the slalom, but pushed a little too much at the end of it so hit the last cone. Took the last two turns much tighter than in previous runs, and the total time 45.6, almost a second faster than the previous one.

Hmph. And there I was, trying to avoid that nasty-looking negative camber and sliding around on the gravel instead. 🙁
February 27, 2014 at 5:58 pm #5812John KimParticipantHmmm I didn’t plan any of my turns that carefully. Maybe that’s why I’m 2 seconds behind the pace. I should take this AutoX business more seriously!
